Had to leave my recent purchase (for the final performance piece) in Silo City, Buffalo as I couldn't carry it with me back into Canada.
Interesting fact about roots- did you know that when they encounter an obstacle in the soil (eg. a rock or another root) the organism will send a signal to enable the tip of the root to slowly build around the blockage? Cell-by-cell the root hairs "feel" along the edges of the barrier so the root can continue on its original path in a peaceful fashion. And the rock can't complain.
After a productive day of installation in BuffaloI couldn't believe my luck when I came back to Canada to find mini mountain waiting for me, right where I left it! (Law prohibits transportation of organic matter, so I left it on a bench in Canada) In the spirit of goodwill I've established another new mound of soil and grass seed on the very bench pictured above. May you flourish and prosper baby mound IV
